“Yuri Nikulin
On the Last Day of 45 DAYS of ART STORIES 2013 and the Year, I share with you the bittersweet smile and laughter of Yuri Nikulin. Born on 18 December 1921, and deceased on 21 august, 1997, Yuri Nikulin provided great joy to people. Through his comedy and his alter-ego as a Clown, he got given the title of the Great Russian Clown.
Through his expressions and emotions he communicated with and captivated his audience. His act transcended language.
He his famously quoted as having said :
It is very important to be able to laugh and cry, to rejoice over one’s own and others’ victories, not to feel angry, not to envy. I dream there will once appear a formation of kind and wise people on the Earth. Live in peace and accord and remember that every second of laughter adds a minute of life.
Reminding us of how fleeting the pleasures of Life are, and how they are perhaps best experienced in the smallest of acts, by the most unassuming people, in the most humble of situations. ”
